Ready, Set, Film! ArtsQuest & Olympus Seeking Participants for 48-Hour Film Challenge
Grand prize includes new Olympus E-M5 Camera & Passes for Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas
BETHLEHEM, PA— Cinematographers, get ready to take part in an intense weekend in which you take your vision from concept to screen, including editing and scoring, in just two days with the Olympus InVision 48-Hour Film Challenge starting Oct. 14, 7:45 p.m., at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
How does it work? Filmmakers and their teams meet Oct. 14 to learn the competition’s required elements including props, a Bethlehem landmark and specific line of dialog that must be incorporated into a 3- to 5-minute film. Then it’s off to shoot and complete the film by the submission deadline, Oct. 16, 8 p.m.
Winning films will be showcased during the 7th-annual Olympus InVision Photo Festival Nov. 6, 7 p.m., at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. The Grand Prize winner will take home a new Olympus E-M5 Mark II professional photo and video camera with a 12-40 mm lens, as well as a pair of 6-month film passes to the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. The Second Place and Audience Choice winners will receive a pair of 6-month passes and 3-month passes respectively. Following InVision, the Grand Prize winning film will be showcased again Nov. 12, 9:45 p.m., before the Alehouse Cinemas’ screening of John Waters’ “Multiple Maniacs.”
There is no fee to enter to film challenge, but all costs associated with the production of the entry are the responsibility of the entrant. Participants must be ages 18 or older; for more information and the registration form visit www.invisionphotofestival.org.
