Rick Holt

Rick Holt has been passionate about photography for more than 30 years and has worked as a professional instructor for the past eight. Prior to that, he founded an innovative medical business centered on applying plastic fiber optics for treating newborn jaundice. After selling his business in 1996, he taught a course at Lehigh University, while at the same time dedicating his efforts to learning as much as possible about emerging digital technologies.

While he still enjoys traveling the world and capturing images of the remote and typically inaccessible such as he did on recent voyages to Antarctica, India and Africa, Rick is also keenly interested in helping other photographers expand their own visions, better understand the complexity of Photoshop and expedite their own workflow. His approach to teaching Photoshop is to start with the basics and then continually build upon and expand the concepts in a logical and easy to understand fashion.

Rick, an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, currently teaches classes is digital photography and digital darkroom at his studio at the Banana Factory, as well as in workshops at the Art Wolfe Digital Photography Center in Seattle and the McDonald Digital institute in McClure, Pa.
