Attention Glass Students:
Please wear the appropriate clothing to class. 70% or higher cotton clothing (cotton jeans & cotton tee shirt). No open toed shoes or high heels. Please keep your hair tied back at all times. Jewelry can be dangerous and uncomfortable. Eye protection is required. Eyewear is available for use in the studio. You may bring clear or lightly tinted sunglasses. Please bring a water bottle to keep yourself well hydrated.

Beginning Flameworking with Rob Saydek

SP-1017 • Mon., March 24-April 14, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
SP-1018 • Mon., April 21-May 12, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

This class is designed to give students a solid foundation of basic flameworking skills. Using borosilicate glass (Pyrex), they learn to create items such as pendants, small-scale sculptures and hollow vessel forms. This is a great introduction to a challenging and fun art form! No experience necessary.

Flameworking Studio - Under the Sea with Greg and Terri Seitz

4 weeks
SP-1019 • Tues., March 25-April 15, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Learn how to sculpt aquatic life forms at the torch using borosilicate glass (Pyrex). Sculpting and color application basics are covered, as are advanced techniques, dichroic glass, ribbon canes and Murrini. No experience necessary.

Flameworking Studio - Vessels with Greg and Terri Seitz

4 weeks
SP-1020 • Tues., April 29-May 20, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Learn to blow hollow glass forms at the torch using borosilicate (Pyrex) tubing and rod. Beginning with pulling points, students move quickly to hollow forms such as vases, perfume bottles, goblets, hollow stems, etc. Spiral and filigrana canes are demonstrated, along with assembly of objects and problem solving. Some flameworking experience necessary.

RENTALS AND PRIVATE LESSONS

The hot shop and flameworking studio are available for rental when not in use for classes. GlassWorks can also arrange private lessons with qualified instructors when the studio is not in use.
