PHOTOMASTERS WORKSHOP with Rick Holt and Keron Psillas

SP-6021 • Thurs.-Sat., May 22-24

The Banana Factory is thrilled to present its Spring Photo Masters Workshop with prestigious nature photographer Rick Holt and Keron Psillas, director of the Art Wolfe Digital Photography Center.

This three-day workshop focuses on the beauty of magnificent Longwood Gardens. Class begins Thursday evening with an introductory lecture on nature photography. The workshop includes location photography inside the gardens and time for discussion on digital file management, composition, critiques and creative techniques. In addition, participants explore creative processes in Photoshop to recreate in-camera effects such as multiple exposures and infrared. Some previous exposure to Photoshop is required for this class – participants should be optimizing and printing images using Photoshop. Anyone who is shooting film is encouraged to borrow a digital SLR to make images for critique sessions in order to maximize the workshop experience. Participation limited to 15 photographers.  Airfare (if applicable), lodging and transportation not included. $300

RICK HOLT, founder of Digital Darkroom Workshops and RW Holt Photography, has been a photographer for more than 35 years. As the first intern at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary at age 15, Rick’s passion for photography was ignited while working with raptors and other birds. Years of summer internships and yearbook duties enabled him to develop his craft, and a lifetime of outdoor pursuits and a love of travel have enabled him to journey to remote corners of the globe to photograph the people, landscapes and wildlife.

In 2002, Rick became an Adobe Certified Expert, and in 2003 he created the Digital Darkroom Workshops. He also helped found the Art Wolfe Digital Photography Center in Seattle and continues to teach there on a regular basis. In addition, he teaches at the McDonald Digital Institute in McClure, Pa., and offers courses in his Banana Factory studio and at other local institutions.
