NEW!- DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: GET THE BASICS FROM DIGITAL CAPTURE TO DIGITIAL OUTPUT with Alyssha Eve Csük

SM-5013 • Sat.-Sun., June 7-8, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Learn the art and technique of digital photography from professional photographer Alyssha Eve Csük. In this workshop, students gain the skills necessary to make great photographs with a digital camera as Alyssha leads them through the mechanics of camera operation and photography. Included are lenses, aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, white balance and ISO settings, as well as the basics of creating a managed digital workflow, shooting in different file formats and working with and processing camera raw files. The course also covers the fundamentals of digital printing and outsourcing printing to a lab. Olympus digital SLR cameras are provided or students may bring their own. Beginners welcome. Basic knowledge of digital cameras is helpful; knowledge of PC or Mac required. $105 plus $15 materials fee

How do you get people to know about your business? How do you sell your artwork? Attend this weekend seminar with Anneke Schoneveld and explore the variety of marketing tools available to you. In this workshop, students design and complete a promotional brochure in class. Each student should bring digital images they would be interested in incorporating into a promotional piece. $105 plus $15 materials fee

SM-5015 • Sat.-Sun., July 12-13, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Spend a weekend learning the art of nondestructive imaging and workflow in Photoshop. In this workshop by professional photographer Alyssha Eve Csük, participants learn the ins and outs of nondestructive imaging, working with layers, levels, curves, blending modes and more. Students should bring their own digital image files to work on in class - sample files also will be available and provided for some of the assignments. Knowledge of PC or Mac required.
$105 plus $15 materials fee

DIGITAL 101 WEEKEND with Sharon Merkel

SM-5016 • Sat.-Sun., July 19-20, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

In this workshop, students learn the art of using a digital camera from talented photographer Sharon Merkel. Sharon leads participants through the beginning mechanics of camera operations, as well as managing, emailing and preparing digital files for printing. We provide Olympus digital cameras or students can bring their own. Beginners welcome - basic knowledge of digital cameras helpful. Knowledge of PC or Mac required. $105 plus $15 materials fee

TRADITIONAL DARKROOM TECHNIQUES IN THE DIGITAL DARKROOM with Alyssha Eve Csük

SM-5017 • Sat.-Sun., July 26-27, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Learn the art and application of creative traditional darkroom techniques such as split toning, lith printing, Polaroid transfer effect, hand coloring techniques and convert to grey options (B&W, infrared) in the digital darkroom in Photoshop. Various techniques for creating interesting borders and edge effects are also covered. Students should bring their own files that they are interested in applying these techniques to; sample files are available for those who may not have their own image files. Knowledge of Photoshop helpful. $105 plus $15 materials fee
