WHEEL THROWING with Deb Slahta

SC-3013 • Mon.-Fri., June 16-20, 9 a.m.-noon

This dynamic class teaches students how to take a ball of clay and transform it into a bowl or cup using the pottery wheel. The spinning of the wheel will mesmerize students as they create beautiful objects that can be used or given as a gift! A glazing day will be arranged later in the summer to paint and fire the dried stoneware. $150

LANDSCAPE DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY with Edward Leskin

Be a landscape photographer! Join a talented Banana Factory artist and learn the ins and outs of landscape photography! Outdoor urban landscapes make a perfect place for campers to learn about basic techniques in darkroom photography. Kids learn various lighting techniques and even print their own negatives. $150

Bring your favorite vacation landscape photos or awesome landscapes from a magazine to this great painting class. Students will learn the magical world of color mixing while exploring techniques to make a beautiful landscape setting! $150

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPY with Alistair Durie

SC-3019 • Mon.-Thurs., June 30-July 3, 9 a.m.-noon

With Digital Photography, campers learn to use our Olympus digital cameras while discovering the adventure of digital media in the Olympus Imaging Center. They’ll also use Adobe Photoshop to alter and distort the images they take during the week. Your kids will leave this camp with prints to last a lifetime! $120

Create a stunning collage out of photos! In this camp, participants incorporate images together to create a tailored and enjoyable collage to last a lifetime! Students work with images and integrate lighting and darkroom techniques to create masterpieces! The finished collage can be displayed on a bedroom wall and will be truly unique. $150

See, think and be an artist! With Sampler Collage, you’ll receive a well-rounded tour of the arts while working with two-dimensional and three-dimensional materials and techniques! Campers will learn printmaking and collage while being introduced to many other exciting surface treatment techniques. Let your imagination soar in this ultra cool collage class. $150

In this camp, your child will receive a well-rounded tour of the arts as she works with a variety of three-dimensional materials and techniques including papier-mâché, paint and other wacky stuff. Students can get as messy as they’d like with this hands-on studio class and take home some really fun sculpture! $150

WEARABLE ART with Valerie Breaux Haaf

SC-3026 • Mon.-Fri., July 21-25, 9 a.m.-noon

Be your own fashion designer! In this camp, youngsters create their own art to wear, then invite family and friends to a runway show at the end of the week that showcases all of their art! Students will learn to tie-dye and make photo transfer tees, as well as craft hats and/or bags. Designers use materials such as recycled denim and other fabrics to express their own personal style! $150

One thing’s for sure - we love jewelry at the Banana Factory! This fun camp will take you through the how-to’s to get to the ‘WOW, YOU MADE THAT?!’ Campers make beautiful jewelry to wear or give as gifts. It’s a summer session that’s great for everyone! $150
