Important Information for All Glass Students:
Please bring a water bottle to keep yourself well hydrated.
Clothing:
Please wear 70% or higher cotton clothing such as cotton jeans and a cotton tee shirt.
Layers of clothing are recommended for winter months.No open toed shoes or high heels.
Please keep hair tied back at all times.
Jewelry is not recommended as it can be potentially dangerous and uncomfortable.
Protective Eyewear:
Protective eyewear is required at all times on the studio floor.
GlassWorks eyewear is available for use in the studio. You may bring your own clear or slightly tinted sunglasses for glassblowing classes ONLY.
Eyewear for torchwork is different than eyewear for glassblowing. Torchwork requires neodymium glasses to reduce flare glare.

This class provides students with a solid foundation of basic flameworking skills through demonstrations and hands-on practice at the torch. Using borosilicate glass (Pyrex), they learn to create items such as pendants, small-scale sculptures and hollow vessel forms. Color application and surface decoration are also emphasized. All materials included; no experience necessary. $220

SOLID FLAMEWORKING with Deb DiMarco

Using pulled cane and frit colored rods, students learn to form borosilicate glass into a variety of shapes. Class includes pendant making, as well as an introduction to human and animal forms. All materials included; no experience necessary. $220

BEADMAKING

In this class, students learn the basic skills needed to make beads at the torch. Altering shape and adding color applications are also covered. At the end of the session, jewelry maker Rachel Akers guests to teach students different ways to make their beads into finished pieces of jewelry. Advanced students are accommodated at their skill level. All materials included; no experience necessary. $220

RENTALS AND PRIVATE LESSONS
The hot shop and flameworking studio are available for rental when not in use for classes. GlassWorks can also arrange private lessons with qualified instructors when the studio is not in use.
