Attention Glass Students:
Please wear the appropriate clothing to class. 70% or higher cotton clothing (cotton jeans & cotton tee shirt). No open toed shoes or high heels. Please keep your hair tied back at all times. Jewelry can be dangerous and uncomfortable. Eye protection is required. Eyewear is available for use in the studio. You may bring clear or lightly tinted sunglasses. Please bring a water bottle to keep yourself well hydrated.

Glassblowing Studio with James Harmon

Join GlassWorks’ Creative Director James Harmon as he teaches you how to make good forms with ease, consistency and confidence. This class focuses on understanding working temperatures for hot glass, blowing even-walled vessels, muscle memory through repetition and teamwork and timing skills. Prerequisite is two prior classes in glass or the permission of the instructor.

In this class, students learn basic hot shop hand skills and the concepts behind them. Class consists of demonstrations and practice time, with assistance to help grasp the content as
the class progresses. No experience necessary.

Intermediate Glassblowing with John Choi

Refine your basic glassblowing skills as you prepare for more advanced classes. The emphasis of this course is a more in-depth understanding of basic glassblowing skills. Prerequisite is Beginning Glassblowing.

RENTALS AND PRIVATE LESSONS

The hot shop and flameworking studio are available for rental when not in use for classes. GlassWorks can also arrange private lessons with qualified instructors when the studio is not in use.
