Khalil Allaik is a native of Lebanon who has been living in the Lehigh Valley for three years. He is a graduate of Lebanese University, where he earned fine arts degrees in both painting and drawing, and he also has a degree in interior design.
Khalil is known for his vibrant, colorful abstract and mixed media art. He works with a variety of materials and techniques, and he sees the artistic process as an opportunity to think outside the box and create pieces that look deep into the thought process. Although his current work includes futuristic sculptures and paintings, his background is in classical painting.
In addition to creating artwork, he also worked as an interior design consultant for a Lebanese firm for eight years. In addition, he was the manager and art dealer for Gallery Kourani Frames in Beirut from 1997-2003. His work has been shown in exhibitions and museums throughout the Middle East, as well as in Montreal, Canada, and at Monsoon Gallery in Bethlehem.
“When I moved to the Lehigh Valley, I heard about the Banana Factory being the best nonprofit art community in this area. Coming into this community and seeing this organization work made that idea a reality to me. The Banana Factory is the best nonprofit organization in the area.”
