All food and non-alcoholic beverages must be catered by an approved preferred caterer Individuals or organizations may not use any other caterer or bring in any outside food. Organizations must contact the caterer directly to discuss details of their event, food and non-alcoholic beverage needs.
ArtsQuest will permit service of alcoholic beverages based on the following policies for each of the facilities.
Banana Factory and Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem will permit the service of alcoholic beverages at certain events where an outside organization is the sponsor host. Each request will be addressed on an individual basis and any approved event shall be subject to the following policies:
1. The individual or organization requesting to serve alcohol at the Banana Factory must complete a lease agreement. The completed form must be returned to the Banana Factory Administrative Assistant at least 30 days prior to the event.
2. Alcoholic beverages must have been purchased at PA State Liquor Stores, PA limited wineries or beer distributors licensed by the PA Liquor Control Board.
3. No alcoholic beverages may be sold. The sales of alcoholic beverages by a person not holding an appropriate license, permit or other authorization granted by the Liquor Code or the regulations of the PLCB is a violation of state law. The making of any charge to any person relative to an event at which alcoholic beverages are available constitutes the unlicensed sale of alcoholic beverages. Examples of such charges include admission prices, entrance fees, registration fees and charges for meals. All guests shall therefore be admitted to the event free of charge.
4. Food shall be served and non-alcoholic beverages shall be available.
5. If dinner is served, only wine may be served with dinner and only by the glass. No bottles, decanters, carafes shall be left on the table.
6. All service of alcoholic beverages shall be made only by servers approved by the Banana Factory caterer and hired by the host. All such servers must have received TIPS or comparable training. Event hosts are responsible for supervising servers during the event. As the servers are hired by the host, the Banana Factory exercises no control over them.
7. Event hosts are responsible for ensuring that only persons 21 years of age or over are served alcoholic beverages.
8. Event hosts are responsible for insuring that all servers are instructed to refuse service to any person seeking to obtain alcoholic beverages who appears to such server to be under 21 years of age.
9. Event hosts are responsible for insuring that all servers are instructed to request proof of age of any person seeking to obtain alcoholic beverages who appears to such server to be under 21 years of age.
10. Servers are not to serve alcoholic beverages to any person appearing to such server to show any sign of intoxication.
11. No server shall consume alcoholic beverages while on duty.
12. Each host shall execute in favor of Banana Factory a Release and Indemnification Agreement in the form attached hereto.
13. Event hosts are responsible for ensuring that no person carries alcoholic beverages outside the area designated for the event. At the conclusion of the event, the host shall remove all remaining alcoholic beverages.
