Volunteer at the Banana Factory

Bring art into your life and the lives of others by volunteering at the Banana Factory!

Join the artists and staff at the Banana Factory in promoting the arts in the Lehigh Valley. Volunteers are the backbone of ArtsQuest and the arts center. Your diverse backgrounds, knowledge and expertise in many fields enhance the abilities of the staff, strengthen ties to the community and enable the day-to-day operations and special activities of the Banana Factory to happen.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Art Class Assistant: Work with Banana Factory artists to assist students in art classes. Classes of varying lengths of time are scheduled throughout the year.

Binney & Smith Gallery Docent: Monitor the gallery and interpret shows for the viewers. Requires interest in art and willingness to learn about exhibits. Training is provided. Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Exhibitions run approximately six weeks, with a week break between each show.

Gallery Shoppe: Assist customers with purchases in the Gallery Shoppe. Experience with retail sales or willingness to learn is required. Training is provided.

Recognition:

As valued members of the Banana Factory team, volunteers receive name badges and a 20% discount (except on food, beverages, collectibles and consignment items) at the Gallery Shoppe on the day they volunteer. After 40 hours of service they receive a Banana Factory logo shirt. After 100 hours of service, they receive a 10% discount on Banana Factory classes. In addition, there are special activities planned throughout the year.
