Nuno Felted Scarves
with Kimberly Tanzos
Sunday, October 29 | 1:00 - 4:00 pm
In this one day workshop, students will use nuno felting to create a beautiful lightweight scarf. Nuno felting is a process where wool fibers are felted onto a piece of fabric creating unique textures throughout the piece. Come try this fun process and leave with a gorgeous light scarf!
Kimberly Tanzos is a 2009 graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Art Education with a minor in Crafts. During her time at Kutztown, she concentrated her studio studies around the fiber arts, including both weaving and non-loom techniques. Following graduation, she began her career as an art teacher in the Pocono area, then moved on to the Allentown Art Museum. While there, she worked in both the education and curatorial departments. In April of 2013, she was accepted as a resident artist at the Banana Factory. Being a resident artist has allowed her to focus on her artwork, teach classes, and get more involved in the artist community in the Lehigh Valley. She plans to continue creating and experiencing all she can in the area of fiber arts, while teaching classes in various types of felt making within the community.
