Tuesdays, January 16-February 20 | 6:00 - 8:30 pm
Learn to use observation and abstraction to view objects in new ways. During this class, students will be given guided exercises to help them learn to see objects from multiple perspectives and depict them using multiple techniques and materials. Each week students will be taught skills to create a new piece of art using drawing, painting, collage, and other mediums. Students will also build on skills such as color theory and composition. All materials will be provided. This class is for students aged 18 or older.
Melissa Perhamus’s work in mixed media reflects her study of many different forms of art from her early days of traditional realism, printmaking, pottery, and set design with her explorative nature. Melissa has lived in many different areas of the Northeast United Sates which comes through in her imagery. She currently works out of her studio at the Banana Factory in Bethlehem, PA and exhibits consistently in solo and group exhibitions. Melissa received her BA in Studio Art from SUNY Potsdam and also studied at The Colleges of Ripon and York St. John, England where she feels she really began to hone her individual voice with her art.
