Join Ricardo Viera, Director and Chief Curator of Lehigh University Art Galleries, for a hands-on session that focuses on everything you need to know to prepare for a professional portfolio review. Learn how to edit your work to clarify meaning, how to order and enhance your presentation, questions to ask and tips to get the most out of our review. Participate in group discussion to get collective feedback. Please bring 10 prints for an editing exercise (8x10, 14x17 or 16x20 depending on scale or nature of subject, or an artist book or compilation). Space is limited; please register in advance

Ricardo Viera has established a visual laboratory program with the LUAG Teaching Collection and the nationally recognized collection of Latin American Photography and Video. Ricardo teaches courses in Photography as Contemporary Art, Latino and Latin American Art of the Americas, Museum and Curatorial Studies and Visual Thinking Strategies. He has organized, curated and served as a consultant for important exhibitions nationally and internationally. Since the early 1990s he has been a reviewer and consultant curator for FotoFest in Buenos Aires, and in 2016 was invited as a lead speaker on Latino Photography in the United States.

Ricardo also conducted a series of preparatory photography portfolio presentation and image editing workshops in 2016 in Santa Clara, Matanzas and Havana Provinces UNEAC (National Union of Writers and Visual Artists of Cuba) Centers and Conversatorios and Masters Photography Images and Art Videos Presentations sponsored by FotoFest International and Foundation for Culture and Society. In October 2006 he was invited to China as a portfolio reviewer for the first FotoFest Beijing, and he later went to Russia for FotoFest Moscow 2011. Ricardo is most interested in creative 21st century endeavors, in essence photography and video as contemporary art. He has shaped the LUAG Teaching Collection not just as a collection of images, but as a collection of ideas that transcend the ordinary.
