Our Digital Imaging Classroom is getting a much-needed upgrade! Starting in October, you can learn on 13 brand-spanking-new 27-inch iMacs with Retina 5k display! The software is also getting an upgrade to the latest edition of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite! So roll up a chair and be as creative as technologically possible in these upcoming classes…

Introduction to Lightroom

Stop searching through the hundred of files looking for a particular photograph! Skip the hours of opening each individual file, and edit whole batches of photos with a single click!

Digital Photography for Pre-Teens (10-12)

Get your cameras ready! Students will explore their surroundings through the digital camera lens. Each week will focus on a different camera function and photography technique, including basic camera functions and composition, shutter, aperture, program and manual settings, depth of field and exposure.

Intro to Photoshop

Tuesdays, October 9-30 – Register Here

Photoshop is one of the industry’s leading image-editing software programs, allowing users to design, edit, restore, retouch and manipulate images. This class is geared toward photographers that are new to Photoshop, as well as those looking for a good introduction to the software.

Digital Photography (Adults)

Learn how to use your digital SRL camera to its full potential and have fun too! Each week will focus on a different camera function and photography technique, including basic camera functions and composition, shutter, aperture, program and manual settings, depth of field, white balance, low-light and exposure.

Digital Art for Pre-Teens (10-12)

Use iPad Pros to create digital paintings, composites and vector graphics! Students will be taught using the app ProCreate, with themed projects given to put skills learned into practical use.

Screen Printing on Clay

October 27-28 – Register Here

This two-day workshop will teach students a unique silkscreen technique, resulting in amazing ceramic objects! On the first day, using smartphones and digital cameras, students will go on a “photographic expedition” near the Banana Factory. They will then learn how to use Photoshop to create a transparency ready for burning to a silkscreen.

Basic Camera Functions

This course is designed to help students develop an understanding of basic camera functions and techniques through hands-on learning. Students will learn such concepts as shutter speed, aperture and ISO and how their relationship and manipulation have an effect on exposure and the final image.

Introduction to Adobe InDesign

Wednesdays, October 31-November 28 – Register Here

Learn how to design and publish digital and print-ready documents quickly and professionally using Adobe InDesign. This four-week program teaches the basics of the application, available tools and functionality to help create beautiful, eye-catching layouts.

In this class, students will go further than the camera’s automatic features by taking artistic control using the camera in manual mode. Through various assignments students will learn the importance of composition and how positioning can impact the final result.
