Art Camp: Around the World (4-9 years)

The world we live in is filled with unique countries with their own cultures, folklore and crafts. During ArtsQuest’s Summer Art Camps at the Banana Factory Arts Center, your child will discover the most creative aspects of ancient and modern cultures. In a full-day session, young artists rotate through four course offerings in 2- and 3-dimensional art. From drawing cityscapes and making wearable artwork to creating musical instruments, students will learn about the world through many artistic mediums. Projects are designed to promote creativity, teamwork and confidence. Young artists will be grouped by age to explore mixed media, drawing, painting, fiber arts, printmaking, sculpture, metalwork, jewelry and more inspired by the week’s theme.* At the end of each week, students will demonstrate and showcase their work to parents and visitors at the Summer Art Party!

Teen Young Artist Intensives (13-18)

At the Banana Factory Arts Center, teen artists can spend the summer stretching their creative limits, building their artistic skills or even preparing for a career with further studies in the visual arts. Teen Intensives also give young artists the opportunity to study a specific medium in depth. Intensives are held in the mornings and afternoons so teens have the flexibility to include art in their schedules. Class sizes are kept small to provide individualized attention, mentorship and guidance from a professional artist. Select one morning and one afternoon option to make a full day or choose one class for a half-day option. Receive a $40 discount when you register for a full day.

AM Option A: Documentary Filmmaking

With smartphones, tablets and software exposing kids to the tools of filmmaking at younger and younger ages, our film camps are structured to help immerse young artists in the essentials of filmmaking while creating a fun and supportive environment in which they can pursue their passion. Once the camp ends, the final short documentaries are celebrated in a screening open to cast, crew, friends and family. It is the student’s responsibility to bring in external hard drives or portable USB drives to class in order to take home files of their artwork.
