6 Weeks

Thursdays, October 21-December 2 | 6:30-9 p.m. * NO CLASS 11/25

Get to know your DSLR or MILC camera. We will cover several types of cameras, commonly used shooting functions, and most importantly, learn how to use the manual method and why it is important. Knowing your camera will help you create beautiful and artistic images instead of just taking pictures.

Most of the scheduled class time will be comprised of demonstrations and discussions of basic photographic principles and processes and how you can use these skills to enhance your photography. Students will use these principles to create images and share with the class for feedback.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Understanding the fundamentals of photography, shutter speeds, aperture settings, ISO settings, light meters, bulb settings, exposure and the importance of manual controls. Please Note: students will need to bring their own cameras to class, along with a portable USB drive for saving their files.
