A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. (Wikipedia)

Photographs intend to document a version of reality outside of the mind. Photograms can express an abstract version of reality existing inside the mind. This two hour workshop will focus on teasing the imagination, exploring a collaboration with the elements, and playing within the picture plane. We will uncover the cameraless photographic process of making photograms and create original abstract imagery with everyday objects. Photographic paper and chemistry will be provided as well as various objects, but feel free to bring your own items to imprint. Class price includes instruction & a $20 supply fee.
