with Devyn Leonor Briggs
Wednesdays, April 17-May 8 | 6:30-9 p.m.
Weaving is one of simplest and most enjoyable ways to begin exploring fiber art. A few simple techniques is all that is needed to make beautiful one-of-kind pieces. In this class we’ll be taking a mixed media approach, experimenting with both traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques. Each student will build his or her own frame loom, and a variety of materials will be available to weave with each class. Students are also encouraged to bring in any other materials they’d like to experiment with. At the end of the class we’ll remove the completed weavings from the looms and discuss finishing and display techniques. All materials are included in the cost of this class.
Devyn Leonor Briggs studied fine art at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), a nationally ranked art college in Baltimore, MD.
