4 Weeks

Wednesdays, May 8-29 | 6:30-9 p.m.

In this four week course there will be an introduction to two types of painting mediums: acrylic and water-soluble oil paint. The first two weeks will be working with acrylic and creating an individual painting based off of an object that each student brings in. We will be making a small color wheel by mixing our own colors to use as a reference throughout the course and to begin getting the paint on the paper with the brush in the hand. Some experimenting with different painting techniques like mixing before you paint, mixing paint on the painting, as well as some palette knife painting. The last two weeks will be exploring watercolor and the techniques to create a watercolor fruit study painting.
