
Teen Studio Intensives for Ages 13-18 years
Studio Intensives are designed with teens and pre-teens in mind. These courses offer older campers (ages 10-18) the opportunity to explore new mediums in-depth. Each week, professional Teaching Artists will guide pre-teens and teens to explore and build foundational skills in a variety of artistic mediums.

With the versatile and intuitive drawing app called Procreate, the possibilities are endless — students will utilize brushes that mimic artist tools, layered documents, custom color palettes, and countless features to enhance their digital designs!

Designed especially for the tree hugger and flower child, this relaxed painting and drawing session will open up students’ creativity to the natural world around them. We’ll explore foraged botanicals by extracting flower pigments and dyes, as well as illustrating them expressively with inked lines and paint. We’ll look up to the sky as our inspiration for some bold painted compositions, as well as focusing on the smaller textures and tiny details of leaves and bugs for nature sketches. The entire week will celebrate the outdoors with art, using Mother Nature as our muse!

Students will explore typography and hand drawn lettering, discussing both contemporary and historical styles and tapping into their own personal expression. They will practice with worksheets and materials to explore serif, sans serif, and other creative letterforms, including sampling basic calligraphy and illustrative hand lettering. With projects such as vintage sign painting, bold statement drop caps, and embellished script quotes, the students will discover how vast the world of lettering is and see letters in a whole new way!
