Artist Statement
David Matzura is a Lehigh Valley-based, multimedia artist who works with watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oils to depict the detail within the detail of natural life. Using traditional media in non-traditional ways, David layers his work with unorthodox tools such as quill pens and liquid gouache.

David’s work is inspired by nature, golden-age illustrators, and engravings. With his work, David wants to create social change and bring more equality to the many disadvantaged demographics of people in America and abroad. David creates figurative work that hopes to convey a specific message about the world around him. He does not wish to shy away from making his opinions and the meaning of his artwork clear to those looking at it.
