4 Weeks

Sundays, June 2-23 | 1-4 p.m.

Join us in the darkroom for a hands-on course on film photography and making black and white prints from start to finish! If you've never worked with film before, or if it's been a while and you need a refresher, this immersive 4-week session you'll learn about:

  • Shooting with Black & White Film
  • Exposure for film and manual camera adjustments
  • Working with photo chemistry
  • Developing film into usable negatives
  • And making prints from your negatives in the darkroom

Along the way we'll also dive into the history of photography, technical and aesthetic ideas important to photographic image making, and constructive feedback to help you develop (see what we did there?) your skills as a film photographer. By the end of our time together, you'll not only have an understanding of the basics of film photography and darkroom techniques but also have a collection of your own black and white prints to showcase your artistic journey.

Scott is a photographer and teaching artist interested in exploring every aspect of photography and integrated media arts. He studied photography at Moravian College, and has worked with all manner of film & digital cameras, historic processes, and lighting systems. He also holds an FAA Remote Pilot certificate to work with cameras that fly.
