Lauren Gilmore 

Lauren Gilmore is a writer, student, and educator currently living in Bethlehem, PA. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Outdancing the Universe, was published in 2015 by the University of Hell Press. Following its release, she has toured extensively across the country, performing and giving informal writing workshops in cities from Vancouver, WA to Manchester, NH. She has performed at the Women of the World Poetry Slam, the Individual World Poetry Slam, and coached a team for the National Poetry Slam. Her poems have appeared in various journals including Pontoon and Ghost City Press. As a fiction writer, her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Pacific Northwest Inlander, and Coffin Bell. In addition to teaching First Year Writing at the university level at Lehigh, she has designed and led creative writing workshops for teens and critical and creative theory classes for adults. She also co-led a women’s therapy group that bridged creative expression and healing from trauma. She is represented by Carlisle Webber at Fuse Literary and writes horror novels for young adults. She also has experience working with toddlers in an Early Head Start classroom.
