Video games are fun to play, but what goes on behind the scenes to make them work? In this class, students will have the opportunity to expand on the skills and tools they developed in Beginner Computer Animation/Video Game Design. In this focused class, aspiring game designers will learn to write their own code and learn how to create custom tweens, gradient graphics, and more Actionscript code. Students leave with a few movies and working games but more importantly, an understanding of what is involved in planning and creating a video game and more advanced concepts of programming. Students should bring their own flash drives, notebooks, and pencils to class. Open to ages 10-12. Prerequisite: Beginner Computer Animation and Video Game Design.

Kathleen Kunsman has a degree in Web Development and uses Adobe Suite products - Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Dreamweaver- on a daily basis. She is also involved with Girl Develop It, an initiative focused on getting more girls interested in programming.
