This course is designed to help students develop an understanding of basic camera functions and experience photographic techniques through hands-on learning. Students will learn such concepts as shutter speed, aperture and ISO and how their relationship and manipulation have an effect on exposure and the final image. Through various assignments students will begin to comprehend the importance of composition and how positioning can impact the final result. Required equipment for this class: a reliable DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera or a MILC (Mirrorless Interchangeable-Lens Camera) with manual controls and a fully charged battery, a memory card, and a thumb drive or larger portable device for storing digital files.
