2 Day Workshop

Friday, March 18 | 7-9 p.m.

This two-day workshop (held over a 3-week period) will give you a chance to decorate your own beer stein. The steins will be provided by the instructor, ready to be carved and painted with your choice of colors. We will look at historical examples of steins, but you can choose your own design! About two weeks later, we'll meet back up to sample local craft beers, drinking out of our fired, food-and dishwasher-safe steins. Registered students will be emailed about the exact time and location for the meet-up and beer tasting with their finished mugs!

Liz is an artist based in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. She has been working with ceramics since 1995, and has maintained a studio and exhibition practice since then. Her ceramic sculptures explore themes of memory and language by depicting miniature environments, objects, words, and images. She has been teaching ceramics at community arts centers since 2013, and began teaching ceramics at Northampton Community College in 2019. Her philosophy as a teacher centers around providing a structure that’s supportive and encouraging for building basic skills, while being flexible enough to facilitate each artists’ unique style and vision.
