Intro to Linocut Print Making
with Alexandra Snowden
Thursdays, October 24-November 14 | 6:30-9 p.m.
Linocut printing stems from the earliest form printmaking known as relief printing, which involves carving into a surface, applying ink and printing onto paper or textiles. In this introductory course, students will learn to translate an image into positive/negative space, transfer the image to a linoleum surface, carve, ink and ultimately create an edition of prints perfect for starting a collection or sharing with friends/family. Students will learn to print with and without a press, and produce two prints including a multiple color design. All levels of experience, from beginner to advanced artists are welcome! This class is for ages 16+, all materials are included.
