Resident Artists
Banana Factory resident artists make up the heart and soul of our programming. We have 28 studios which are all rent subsidized enabling artists to afford a special space to create their work. In addition to offering lower rents, the studio artists have an annual group show, rotating featured work on the artist wall, and 11 First Friday events where thousands of visitors from the region come to attend exhibition receptions, visit the artists in their studios, and participate in hands-on activities, demos and lectures. Many of our resident artists teach education classes with the Banana Factory and private lessons in their studios. Inclusion is the name of the game here, with a variety of ages, abilities, art mediums and aesthetics represented.
